Former Knicks GM Al Bianchi, who was responsible for acquiring Charles Oakley and John Starks, died Monday of natural causes, the team announced.
He was 87.
Bianchi, a product of Long Island City, was the Knicks GM from 1987-91, overseeing the Patrick Ewing-led club before the arrival of Pat Riley.
