Sacred Heart University settles lawsuit over student’s pancake-eating competition death

Caitlin Nelson died at 20 after a school-sanctioned pancake-eating competition in a university auditorium, according to a wrongful-death complaint filed two years ago. The lawsuit called the speed-eating pancake proceeding a “terribly dangerous idea.”
