Ancient ‘Bobbit worms’ leaped from under seafloor to snag prey and drag it beneath the sand: study

Researchers have discovered 20 million-year-old trace fossils of an ancient carnivorous worm that leaped out of the sand to snatch prey, its jaws slicing it in half as it dragged the hapless creature underneath the seafloor for consumption.
