Nashville Zoo mourns loss of newborn giraffe after mom accidentally steps on her calf

A newborn giraffe at the Nashville Zoo in Tennessee died when its mother accidentally stepped on its neck, zoo officials announced. The delivery had required medical intervention, but mother and baby had been doing well at the outset.
