Homeless man killed by rescue train after subway stalls in Manhattan

Around 5:50 a.m. the emergency brakes were tripped on an uptown No. 4 just south of 110th St. after a metal wedge that connects the electrified third rail was knocked off, Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials said.
