Judge denies defense request to sequester jury in Derek Chauvin trial over new civil unrest

Derek Chauvin’s attorney failed to convince the judge presiding over the ex-cop’s trial in Minneapolis that the jury should be immediately sequestered following Sunday night’s civil unrest in the neighboring city of Brooklyn Center, where a 20-year-old Black man was fatally shot by police.
