The police chief who fired Derek Chauvin after the officer was caught on video kneeling on George Floyd’s neck in Minneapolis last spring is among the witnesses slated to testify in the ex-cop’s murder trial Friday. Chief Medaria Arradondo is expected to reveal what Chauvin told him about the fatal May 25 arrest and whether the officer’s use of force could be justified in any way. The testimony, which could come as early as Friday morning, may be devastating for the defense as police chiefs rarely testify against one of their own officers.
