Massive iceberg bigger than Rhode Island calves off Antarctica into the Weddell Sea

It’s an … iceberg! A new biggest-in-the-world hunk of ice has been born – bigger than Rhode Island or the Spanish island of Majorca, three times larger than Los Angeles, and nearly 80 times the size of Manhattan – as a piece has sheared off Antarctica’s Ronne Ice Shelf, satellite photos show.
