Vatican urges Italy to change proposed law that would criminalize homophobia

The Zan bill, named after openly gay lawmaker Alessandro Zan, is designed to protect victims of violence against LGBTQ individuals, women, and people with disabilities. It passed the Italian Chamber of Deputies in November, and it now needs to pass the Senate.
