Federal judge orders Illinois prisons to ‘immediately’ improve treatment of transgender inmates

U.S. District Court Judge Nancy Rosenstengel sharply criticized the state's department of correction for failing to improve care for transgender inmates since it was first ordered to do so in December 2019.
