Sicily may have seen Europe’s hottest day ever with possible 119-degree temperature

The World Meteorological Organization is trying to verify reports that the Italian island of Sicily set an all-time heat record for Europe, possibly registering a temperature of 119.8 degrees Fahrenheit this week.
