COVID-19 lockdown had ‘undetectable effect’ on greenhouse gas buildup, as warming emissions stoked temps: report

Lockdown did little to dampen the rate of greenhouse gas buildup in Earth’s atmosphere last year, as the gases hit a record high and increased at a faster rate than the annual average for the past decade, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) said in a report published Monday.
