Former MLB pitcher Anthony Varvaro killed in wrong-way crash en route to serve at Manhattan’s 9/11 site

A wrong-way driver on Sunday obliterated the life of Anthony Varvaro, a Staten Island man who was a beloved Major League baseball player-turned Port Authority cop, and a father of four. Varvaro was 37.
